With funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation, researchers and faculty from the OWML are working with stakeholders and other faculty at Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt University, and North Carolina State University to develop collaborative research projects centered around addressing nitrate pollution in streams, and the build-up of salt in freshwater resources across the U.S. One such planning effort, focused on nitrate pollution, was held at the Virginia Tech National Capital Region campus in Ballston this past weekend. Plans are in the works for an expert panel discussion on Engineering Solutions to Freshwater Salinization at Fairfax Water’s Griffith Auditorium on January 14, 2020. Stay tuned!
